Athlete Testimonials

“AthleteU's videos get to the point and the daily questions were more like reflections, which is good. It was easy to follow along and wasn't difficult to keep up with. Everything was smooth and all the information was important. Things I can carry with me.”

Rory

OHL Player & NHL Draft Pick

“I have thoroughly enjoyed AthleteU and what it has to offer. The videos, lessons, and reflections are broken up into very manageable pockets of work which is great. So far, my favourite subject has been the Growth Mindset module. I felt the examples provided were super insightful and applicable to my athletic experiences.”

Nicholas

Football/Rugby/Swim, Grade 12

“AthleteU helped me honestly evaluate my strengths and weaknesses, while also raising questions that allowed me to better understand how my mind works. It’s a fantastic tool to add to your training, regardless of where you’re at in your athletic career.”

Owen

Basketball, Canadian Men's National Team

“AthleteU has helped me reflect on key areas of not only my athletics, but everyday life. For example, growth mindset is something I've heard about, but the videos and responses really helped me look back on what I've actually done to improve that in my life. That's been the case with pretty much every other major focus of the program.”

Michael

Varsity Swim/Track & Field, Grade 12

“AthleteU has been a wonderful addition to my class curriculum, the videos never fail to generate conversation and healthy debate. AthleteU provides students with the opportunity to think critically about sport in ways that they had not previously considered. More importantly, AthleteU contributes to the fundamental understanding of growth mindset, not only in sport, but how it can be applied on the journey of life. This is an exceptional program for students looking to expand their understanding of self and how that fits into the greater picture of their athletic pursuits.”

Leah

Teacher

“It's been extremely rewarding to do a bit of introspection, especially in a time like this where everything is really crazy, but also slow at the same time. I think it's been interesting to reflect on everything I've done thus far, especially now that I've gotten into the university and I'm looking back on everything that's gone into my development up to this point.”

Jinoo

Varsity Rower, Grade 12

“I really enjoyed AthleteU. It holds a unique and interesting perspective on the entirety of the athlete development process, and has had me reflect a lot on my personal experience, passion, and future.”

Robbie
